About the Site
Hey there! My name is Liam and I'm an FtM transgender college student. A bit about me: I come from a Lebanese-American background and have lived most of my life in Southern California. I now attend school at Whitman College in Washington.
I created this site in May 2008. I originally decided to make this site because I was reading a lot of news pertaining to the trans community, and I began be more and more outraged with the status of transgender people in society. From hate crimes to exclusion from ENDA to the fact that we are often silenced and ignored even by the gay and lesbian communities, all of these things undermine the fact that we are people deserving of the same amount of respect as any other human beings. When I began to become aware of the situation facing transgender people, I wanted to do something to make a difference. Yet, because the trans community is so diverse and often so hidden, I've found it hard to know what I can do, how I can help.
This site is (and probably always will be) under construction, but I hope it will eventually become a place where people can come and not only learn about what is going on within the trans community but also what they can do to promote equality for trans and gender variant people.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, news, ways I can make the site better, I'd love to hear them. Please contact me using the link at the top of the page. And even if you don't have anything in particular to say but just want to say hi, that's cool, too. I'm open to anything. :)
